FAQs

When should I start looking for my wedding dress?

We would advise looking about a year prior to your big day with a view to order your dream dress approximately 9 months prior to your wedding day. This ensures your dream dress will arrive at the boutique in plenty of time and also allows for any alterations/bespoke tailoring required to ensure your gown is perfect. However, this is not a hard and fast rule as some of our designers do offer a rush order service so we can accommodate Brides with less of a lead time and we have many brides who order their gown 18 months prior to their special day

Should I book an appointment?

The boutique is open by appointment only. This ensures that we can provide our Brides with the best possible customer service experience and ensure the team are available to advise & assist you on choosing your dream dress. It is a once in a lifetime dress that you’re purchasing so we want you to feel special and enjoy the experience

What are your opening hours?

We do not have set opening hours because we open by appointment only. Generally, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. We do offer Tuesday evening appointments but as a guideline these appointments need to be booked 3-4 weeks in advance. The latest evening appointment is 6.30pm

Who should I bring with me to my appointment?

In our many years experience, and from listening to feedback from our brides, we would suggest attending with 2-3 guests whose opinion you absolutely trust. If you bring more guests it can become quite overwhelming and somewhat confusing trying to listen to all the differing opinions. Both of our fitting rooms have comfortable seating for up to 3 guests

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

It is always helpful to see dresses that you have been viewing online or in magazines so your Pinterest board or scrap book is an ideal starting point. Please be aware that the idea you have in mind may not live up to expectation so always best to come with an open mind. In an ideal world, neutral underwear and a strapless bra, but this is not essential. Please bring shoes if you have a pair that are comfortable and the heel height you are intending to wear on the day.

Please refer to our “How to gain the most out of your appointment” page for complete advice

How long will my appointment last?

Our Wedding dress consultations are up to 1 ½ hours

What happens once I’ve chosen my dress?

We will take your measurements to determine the dress size required. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your order. We will then contact you once your dress has arrived at the boutique to arrange your initial dress fitting appointment

What happens if I intend to lose weight?

This is something we will discuss at your consultation once measurements have been taken. We would advise ordering your wedding dress based on the size you are. Our recommended seamstresses advise a dress can be drawn-in by approximately 2 dress sizes – depending on the designer a dress size is a difference of approximately 2 inches

Do you hire dresses?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer a hire service. We do have sample gowns available to purchase “off the peg” that are vastly reduced so this may be a consideration

Do you buy pre-loved dresses?

Unfortunately this is not a service we offer
